Examining the Hive
During the spring and summer months, we will inspect the hive on a regular basis to make sure all is well with the colony.

Honey extraction
As the hives fill with honey, there is a need to take out the filled supers to extract, process and jar the honey.

Hive maintenance
As the year grows colder, there is less need to keep such a close eye on the hive, and tasks move to maintenance of equipment ready for the new season. For instance, cleaning and storing hive boxes, and making new frames for the bees to work with.
